On Saturday, 3 June, a new adventure begins in Dobrovo for Miha Deželak, morning co-host of Denis Avdić on Radio 1. Over seven days he will cycle a Pony bike across a large part of Slovenia, collecting money along the way for children who, without our help, would not see the sea this year. His journey will end on Friday, 9 June, at Debeli Rtič.
Last year, through his charity bike ride, Miha raised as much as EUR 62,000. With the money raised, in cooperation with the Moste Friends of Youth Association, he has so far taken more than 300 children to the seaside. Some of them saw the sea for the first time in their lives. Many are delighted on holiday by things that may seem self-evident to us. Teachers can tell us how some children were amazed at how salty the sea can be, and how happy they were about a warm daily meal, which they are not used to at home.
