VZAJEMNA OPEN 2018
The beach volleyball caravan will make another stop in Portorož between 16.8.2018 and 18.8.2018. The international tournament Vzajemna Open 2018, under the auspices of MEVZA and the Slovenian Volleyball Federation, will take place on the courts of the Central Beach in Portorož and on the courts at Marina Portorož. This year we are expecting a record number of participating teams. In the men’s competition as many as 32 will compete in the main draw, and 29 in the women’s competition. This means a large number of matches and a lot of sporting enjoyment for spectators and volleyball enthusiasts
This year’s Vzajemna Open will take place at both locations on all three competition days, with the exception of the semifinal and final matches, which will be held on Saturday from 2 PM onward on the Central Beach in Portorož. Last year’s tournament hosted outstanding teams, including the Czech men’s team Perušič/Schweiner, currently ranked 20th in the world, the Italian men’s team Caminati/Rossi, currently ranked 38th in the world, and the excellent Polish team Kociolek/Gromadowska, whose first player, with her current partner, is ranked 40th in the world beach volleyball rankings.
This year’s tournament lineup will also be varied. The home teams will compete with all their strongest assets, which fills us with hope that, for the first time in the tournament’s history, an overall win in one of the categories will stay on home soil. Dear friends of beach volleyball, we invite you to join us between 16.8.2018 and 18.8.2018 in the stands of the beach volleyball center on the Central Beach in Portorož and at the beach volleyball center at Marina Portorož, where the international beach volleyball tournament Vzajemna Open 2018 will take place. The semifinal and final matches of the tournament will be held on Saturday, 18.8.2018, on the Central Beach in Portorož.
